Changes made by this legislation will enable non-patient specific prescribing (aka “standing orders”) whereby a prescribing physician could oversee non-medical staff who could dispense naloxone (Narcan) anywhere, anytime! 6/26/13 – Expanded Hepatitis C Testing bill is passed by NYS legislature. This bill will mandate health care providers to offer Hepatitis C testing to all baby boomers (people born between 1945 and 1965), which corresponds with the recommendations of the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
