Latoya L. Bazmore

Outreach Coordinator

Latoya is CASJ’s Outreach Coordinator and provides street outreach to people who use drugs and who are in crisis or unhoused. She drives the mobile outreach van to find people on the street to connect with them. She provides harm reduction and emergency supplies to outreach participants to make sure they are as safe as possible. Latoya is passionate about giving the much-needed resources and information to those who otherwise would not get helped.

Raised in Deer Park, Latoya became interested in helping others while growing up watching her grandmother and mother who were both nurses. She worked as a CNA for 10 years and started a nonprofit in 2020 to help those dealing with mental health, homelessness, and addiction issues in several communities across Long Island. She has hosted a radio show on the Stony Brook University campus that brought attention to those issues and brought together different organizations to work with the individuals who had slipped through the cracks of the complex mental health and housing systems.
