Harm Reduction Coordinator – Suffolk County

Chenequa is CASJ’s Suffolk County Harm Reduction Coordinator. She provides syringe exchange and overdose prevention services directly to people who use drugs and supervises CASJ’s Suffolk County peer syringe exchange. Through this work, she helps expand access to Narcan, medications for opioid use disorder (MOUD), drug checking, wound care, and other life-saving harm reduction services. Chenequa’s passion for harm reduction is rooted in her lived experiences and a deep commitment to social justice, dignity, and meeting people where they are.

Chenequa discovered her passion for helping others at a young age while growing up in Queens, New York. During the COVID-19 pandemic, she worked with youth in NYC secured facilities, teaching employment readiness and life skills to incarcerated youth, and revealed her true calling. Today, Chenequa is a dedicated advocate for incarcerated and marginalized individuals, committed to uplifting those who are often forgotten or treated as less than.
